Harvey Wallbanger Cocktail


The Harvey Wallbanger cocktail is in my book Cream Horns and Vol au vents with stories from the 1970s. A boyfriend at the time took me to the bar at the top of the Hilton Hotel and this cocktail was my choice. Made from vodka, Galliano, orange juice and lots of ice and served in a high ball glass deorated with lots of clutter – paper umbrella, orange slice, cherry with a stalk. It tastes rather sweet and girly now for 2025 tastes.

Made from Vodka, Galliano, orange juice .

1 serving – 50ml vodka, 50ml orange juice, 1/2 lemon juice, 15ml Galliano – Shake vodka, orange and lemon juice with ice in a jam jar, then strain and pour into glass with more ice. Top with Galliano and decorate with slice of orange, cocktail cherry and paper umbrella.
